Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue hourglass with a gold frame in front of an arched gold scroll, the left side of the scroll inscribed "ANY TIME" and the right "ANY TASK" in brick red, the upper part of the scroll and the frame surmounted by a blue fleur-de-lis, the areas behind the hourglass and within the arch of the scroll brick red; all on a horizontal gold tire.

Symbolism
The hourglass symbolizes the time and refers to the Battalion's motto. The tire represents the organization's major mission of motor transport. The fleur-de-lis, a symbol of France, refers to the unit's service in France during World War II. Brick red and gold are representative of the Transportation Corps. Blue refers to the Battalion's former service as a Quartermaster organization.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 25 October 1967. It was amended to revise the description and symbolism on 24 May 1993.
